Nurturing the whole child

Children’s Kingdom is a licensed home child care agency rooted in Christian faith and Ontario’s early years pedagogy. Here is who we are, what we believe, and who you will meet.

About Children’s Kingdom

Care that looks like family, backed by a licensed agency

We are not a centre with classrooms. We are an agency that recruits, screens, trains and supervises home child care providers — then places children with them and stays closely involved.

That gives families the warmth and continuity of a home, and the accountability of a licensed organisation: documented screening, monthly visits from a Registered Early Childhood Educator, quarterly safety reviews and a full record of every requirement under Ontario’s Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014.

Upload the handbook as a PDF and point this button at it. Keep the file under 5 MB, tag it properly for screen readers, and remove any staff home addresses or personal phone numbers before publishing it.

Our philosophy

What we believe about children

As a Christian program, we seek to provide an environment grounded in Christian values such as love, kindness, compassion, respect, honesty, forgiveness and service to others. These values show up in how we speak to children, to families, to educators and to the wider community — while respecting and valuing the diverse backgrounds, cultures, beliefs and experiences of every family who joins us.

We recognise parents and families as important partners in children’s learning and development. We encourage families to take part in activities, share their experiences and perspectives, and help shape a welcoming and supportive learning community.

Through responsive relationships, intentional programming and daily opportunities for play, exploration, creativity and social interaction, our goal is to support each child’s overall well-being and development — and to grow a lifelong love of learning.

Responsive relationships

Small groups mean a provider can notice the quiet child, follow a sudden interest in worms, and know exactly how each child likes to be comforted.

Intentional programming

Play is planned, observed and documented. Providers record what children do and use it to decide what to offer next — not the other way round.

Families as partners

An open-door policy is only real if you use it. Come early, stay late, join the walk to the library, tell us about the holiday your family keeps.

Our statement on inclusion

Everyone has something to teach a child

Children’s Kingdom recognises the value of intergenerational learning and inclusive community participation.

We welcome seniors and persons with disabilities as staff members, volunteers and community partners, in roles designed to be meaningful, accessible and aligned with individual strengths, abilities and comfort levels.

All participation is guided by safety, dignity, respect and compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act.

Publish job titles and first names by default. Do not publish staff home addresses, personal mobile numbers, or the addresses of provider homes — those belong on the secure platform, not the public website.

Safety and compliance

What we check, and how often

Before a home opens

Vulnerable sector check, offence declaration, initial medical, TD booster, home safety inspection, first aid and CPR, insurance, and a full policy review with the provider and every adult in the household.

Every month

An unannounced or scheduled home visit by an RECE home visitor: attendance, sleep and outdoor records, food and allergies, medication, materials, and time with the children.

Every quarter and year

A quarterly site safety review of the whole home and yard, plus annual medicals, renewed offence declarations and refreshed screening for every household member aged 18 and over.

Ask them. We would rather have a long conversation now than a surprise later.
