What you bring
What we need before a home can open
- A vulnerable sector check for you and every household member 18 or older
- A signed offence declaration, renewed annually
- An initial medical, then an annual medical, and a current TD booster
- Standard first aid with infant and child CPR
- A home and yard that passes our safety inspection
- A completed policy review with every adult in the household
- Warmth, patience and a genuine liking for children
You do not need an ECE diploma to be a home child care provider in Ontario. Training and experience help, and we will tell you honestly what your application looks like from where we sit.

Checks, medicals, first aid and the policy review for every adult in the household.
Opening
Orientation, your first placements, and a home visitor who knows your name.
